ipdock.io ("ipdock", "we", "us") is a Dynamic DNS (DDNS) service for self-hosters. We provide DNS management tools that allow users to point domain names to dynamic IP addresses.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
- Email address (for authentication and account recovery)
- Hashed password (bcrypt, never stored in plain text)
- Plan/subscription status
Service Data
- Hostnames and domain configurations you create
- IP addresses submitted via DDNS updates (your public IP)
- DNS records you configure
- API tokens (stored as SHA-256 hashes)
- Update timestamps and source (API, Docker client, DynDNS2 router)
Technical Data
- IP address of requests (for DDNS functionality and rate limiting)
- User agent string (for protocol detection)
- Request timestamps (for operational monitoring)
What We Do NOT Collect
- Advertising cookies via Google AdSense (for ad personalization)
- No third-party advertising trackers
- No browsing history or behavioral profiling
- No personal information beyond what you provide
3. How We Use Your Information
- DNS service delivery: Resolving your hostnames to your IP addresses
- Authentication: Verifying your identity and managing sessions
- Account management: Email verification, password resets, plan billing
- Service operation: Rate limiting, abuse prevention, system monitoring
- Communication: Service-related emails only (verification, billing, critical alerts)
4. Cookies
We use only essential cookies:

We use Google AdSense to display relevant advertisements on our public pages. Google may use cookies for ad personalization based on your browsing activity. You can opt out of personalized ads via Google Ad Settings. We do not use analytics or other third-party tracking beyond AdSense.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, except:
- DNS resolution: Your hostnames and IP addresses are published in DNS (this is the core function of the service)
- Payment processing: Stripe handles billing — we never see or store your credit card details
- Email delivery: Resend.com delivers transactional emails on our behalf
- Legal compliance: If required by law, court order, or to protect our rights
6. Data Storage & Security
- Data is stored on servers in Germany (Hetzner Cloud, Falkenstein)
- DNS infrastructure spans EU and US regions
- All connections encrypted via TLS (Cloudflare)
- Passwords hashed with bcrypt
- API tokens stored as SHA-256 hashes
- DNSSEC enabled on all zones (ECDSA P-256)
7. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your data
- Rectification: Correct inaccurate data
- Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data
- Portability: Export your data in a standard format
- Objection: Object to processing of your data

8. Data Retention
- Account data: retained while your account is active
- DDNS update logs: retained for 90 days
- Deleted accounts: all data permanently removed within 30 days
9. Children
ipdock is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
