Terms of Service

Last updated: March 25, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using ipdock.io ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

ipdock provides Dynamic DNS (DDNS) services, allowing users to map domain names to dynamic IP addresses. The Service includes DNS hosting, API access, and a web dashboard for management.

3. Account Requirements

  • You must provide a valid email address
  • You must be at least 16 years old
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and API tokens
  • One account per person — do not create multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

  • Host or distribute malware, phishing pages, or illegal content
  • Conduct DDoS attacks or use DNS for traffic amplification
  • Abuse the DDNS update API (excessive requests beyond rate limits)
  • Impersonate other users or domains you do not own
  • Use the Service for any activity that violates applicable law
  • Circumvent plan limits through automation or multiple accounts

Violation of these terms may result in immediate account suspension or termination without refund.

5. Plans & Billing

  • Free plan: Available at no cost with usage limits
  • Paid plans: Billed monthly via Stripe — cancel anytime
  • Downgrading removes resources that exceed the new plan's limits (you choose which to keep)
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact support
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice to existing subscribers

6. Custom Domains

  • You must own or control any custom domain you add to ipdock
  • Domain verification is required before DNS management is enabled
  • We reserve the right to remove domains that infringe on trademarks or are used for abuse

7. API & Rate Limits

  • API access is provided as-is for integration with your infrastructure
  • Rate limits are enforced per plan tier — exceeding them will result in temporary blocks
  • API tokens are your responsibility — treat them like passwords
  • We support the DynDNS2 protocol for router compatibility

8. Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee 100% uptime. DNS infrastructure is distributed across multiple regions for redundancy. Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance when possible.

9. Intellectual Property

The ipdock brand, logo, and software are our property. Your data (hostnames, DNS records, configurations) remains yours. You grant us a license to host and serve your DNS data as part of providing the Service.

10. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for:

  • DNS propagation delays beyond our control
  • Downtime or data loss due to infrastructure failures
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Loss of business or revenue related to DNS resolution

Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the preceding 12 months.

11. Account Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time from the dashboard
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms
  • Upon termination, all DNS records are removed and data is deleted per our retention policy

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Contra Costa County, California.
